Debbie Jacob received the Chaconia Gold medal on March 7th, 2022. She received Trinidad and Tobago's second-highest award for her humanitarian work. Specifically her work with prison reform and the k9 and mounted branch. Jacob has initiated legislative reform for retired K9 police dogs ensuring that they are treated as police officers and retire in appropriate homes. Organizing programs and creating a library known as the Royal Reading Room in Port of Spain's Royal Gaol are among her other acts of service to the community.
